Set the password, for example "raspberry". Configure Samba to share that directory Edit the Samba config file with sudo nano /etc/samba/smb. Then close and save the file by pressing "CTRL + X" and "Y". In the “Authentication” field, write “ security = user”. ![]() You need to set the “ workgroup” (in my case I set “PIPPO”), and un-comment (remove "#") “ wins support = yes”. See the section on encrypt passwords in the smb.conf(5) manpage before enabling. In the file, you need to make some modifications. To quickly write them on Putty, you can just copy one line and then right click on Putty.
